It never fails to impart a warm fuzzy feeling when folks order up Southern Food, Soul Food, Cajun or Creole from me. I suppose that Southern Fare, more so than other regions, demands a certain amount of love when preparing. It seems to communicate the attitude of the cook directly to the guests…. In this particular case, the love in this wedding taste test was apparent:
Creole Shrimp (A Classic Creole dish consisting of shrimp in a spicy tomato based broth with a backbone of sauteed onions, celery, bell peppers and garlic – The Trinity)
Ginger Honey Roasted Sweet Potatoes
Grilled Zucchini and Peppers with Lemon and Candied Onions
Bourbon Chicken (Not technically a Southern Dish, but a tasty, festival style indulgence)
Steamed Long Grain Rice and Cornbread
If that doesnt make you well up with the warm and fuzzies, I dont know what will.
