Simply uttering the words “a winter brunch in the woods” has a calming and curative effect on the spirit. Last weekend we had the rare opportunity to cater in a contagiously relaxing B&B in Yellow Springs called the Glen House. It certainly spares me all of the adjectives I could use to describe this destination by saying, without exaggeration, that it is idyllic. We thoroughly enjoyed the hospitality afforded us by the inn-keepers, and utilized their comfortable kitchen to assemble a quintessential brunch. The menu included:
Eggs Benedict with Lime Hollandaise
Chicken Chorizo and Sweet Potato Hash
Roasted Vegetable Fritata with Provolone Cheese
Bananas Foster French Toast (made with Vanilla Pound Cake)
Adapted Champagne Mimosas including Blueberry Pear Juice and Banana Cranberry
Full Bloody Mary Bar with Kimchi !
