(This is the third in a series of blogs about planning your wedding by bride Shana Lloyd)
When you’re planning your wedding day they tell you so many things that are normal experiences. People will be late, your vendors will get lost, you’ll forget a guest table on seating chart (I did that), it will go by so quickly…these are just some of the incidents I was warned about. I was also told you won’t have time to sit or eat. Well I didn’t sit much, but you better believe we enjoyed some unforgettable food.
The day was perfectly curated, from the rich and saturated colors of the gorgeous flowers draping every country chic corner to the personalized and vintage touches that set the tone for the day. It was truly spectacular. My vision had come to life and our wedding was truly magical…. CHECK OUT THE VIDEO HERE
But what people are still talking about, aside from our love and how happy they are for my husband I – is the food. Well done, Scratch Events! Kudos Chefs Marshall Bartley and Matthew Hayden, along with their highly trained and courteous staff.
After the “I Do” my husband and I took a few minutes to savor a perfect moment in time. Everyone we loved had gathered for one of the most important days in our lives and we appreciated that so very much. Months of planning had finally come to fruition and in the moments before walking into our reception, I could not wait to see everyone – see how happy they were.
It was a little hilarious to both of us how so many that walked up to greet us and wish us well had a small plate in their hand and a mouth semi full, many even commenting on how delicious the food was at the very moment. Several guests were blown away that we even had Chicken & Waffles at our wedding. Thank you Chef Marshall!
The food and beverage presentation was amazing, all around – Scratch Events’ Project Manager Kristen LeMaster ensured that every detail we spoke about was executed flawlessly. The entire team at Scratch worked diligently with our coordinator making sure every detail on our wedding day was thoroughly planned out as well as collaborating with all of our vendors to ensure the experience was seamless. I was so impressed with how helpful and courteous the staff was during the reception and touched by the fact that Matt himself was there to personally greet & help serve our guests. Our theme was all about family, comfort and indulging in simple treasures and Scratch did an amazing job at helping to give our wedding reception guests the best experience.

John and I are both so thankful for how perfect the day was and how each of our vendors played a significant role in the day but are especially thankful for the unique experience provided by Scratch. There are so many details, so many lists and last minute things that pop up as you get close to your wedding. Having a caterer that gets that and supports you is invaluable, and the team at Scratch does.
I can’t wait for the opportunity to work with them again and highly recommend that if you’re in the Dayton, Cincinnati or Columbus area, newly engaged and planning a wedding, are a foodie or just want a unique menu & experience for your wedding that you contact Scratch!
